- Designed to replicate the appearance of a natural tooth
- You will be leaving with a smile that looks exactly like the diagnostic model that you approved.
- Gives a stunning smile as an end result
A veneer is a thin sliver of high-strength porcelain, designed to replicate the appearance of a natural tooth. It is bonded to the front surface of a tooth, altering the size, shape, color, and even alignment. One or multiple teeth can be treated with veneers. Although most dentists offer porcelain veneers, very few have the cosmetic training and artistic talent to create truly stunning smiles.
Dr. Vallejo completed a significant portion of his training at UCLA. He was fortunate enough to study under a premier cosmetic dentist, who had clientele including several Hollywood celebrities. He used this opportunity to develop and refine his skills creating not only porcelain veneers but also crowns, fillings, and other dental restorations with exceptional cosmetic results.
Designing your smile
We begin the veneer process with a consultation. The doctor will examine your teeth and discuss your goals to determine if porcelain veneers would be beneficial to you. If your teeth are severely misaligned or other dental health problems are present, the doctor may recommend other options, such as braces or dental crowns. If veneers are determined to be the best option, we will proceed with diagnostics and design.
We create diagnostic wax-ups (models), which enable us to show you what can be accomplished. One of the most important aspects of cosmetic dentistry is creating visual harmony through symmetry and proper proportions
. The model allows you to see how altering the proportion of your teeth can change the appearance of your smile. Most people are pleasantly surprised to discover that they are part of the design process.
Beauty is in the eyes of the beholder, and when it comes to your smile, it is your opinion that matters. You will have the opportunity to see your new smile on the diagnostic model, and request adjustments if you wish. For example, if you want the teeth to be rounder, we will send them back to the lab for adjustment. Only when you are delighted with the appearance will we proceed.
The veneer procedure
In many dental offices, the teeth are prepared and then temporaries are made in office if needed. While those temporaries serve the purpose of protecting your teeth, they do not necessarily look or feel like your permanent veneers will. Our process is different. When you come in for preparation, you will be leaving with a smile that looks exactly like the diagnostic model that you approved
. Our custom-made temporaries give you the opportunity to become accustomed to the new shape and appearance of your teeth. They also provide a chance to evaluate the design further, because you can still request changes at this point.
We take great pride in our work, and we have earned a reputation for excellence, because we will not settle for anything less. Our good name and your dazzling smile is dependent upon the quality and precision of our work – and we deliver stunning results. Your smile should be more than just nice; it should be just as amazing as you are!
